"Food for Profit": Premiere in Barcelona on June 7th after a hit in Italian box offices
The documentary “Food for Profit” arrives on Barcelona screens on June 7th, following a resounding success in Italy and a memorable premiere at the European Parliament. Directed by Giulia Innocenzi and Pablo D'Ambrosi, this revealing documentary offers a raw look at the ties between the European Parliament and the industrial livestock industry, funded with nearly €400 billion from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) budget.
The screening in Barcelona promises to ignite a crucial conversation about the relationship between politics and the food industry. Through five years of research, Innocenzi and D'Ambrosi uncover the truth about an industry that exploits animals, is the main cause of pollution, promotes antibiotic resistance, and water pollution. The documentary has already led to the removal of two MEPs from the lists, highlighting its ability to generate real change in society.
With the goal of raising public awareness and influencing public debate, the Vegan Association of Catalonia joins in the dissemination of this important work. Through collaboration in promoting the documentary, the aim is to drive significant change leading up to the European elections on June 9th.
“Food for Profit” not only highlights existing issues but also raises the urgent need to adopt more sustainable policies and behaviors. This revealing documentary sheds light on the practices of the livestock industry in Europe and sparks a crucial debate about the environmental, ethical, and economic impact of industrial farming on our society.
Thanks to the work of Giulia Innocenzi, Pablo D'Ambrosi, and the entire team behind “Food for Profit” for spreading awareness of reality and supporting the values of veganism for a future free from animal cruelty.
